Q.Zorro Zoysia Grass

Anonymous added on April 15, 2011 | Answered

We had Zorro zoysia installed about 30 days ago. We are experiencing many brown spots in quite a few areas. We are concerned about this situation since we live in San Antonio, Texas and had to replace the dead St. Augustine lawn.

Please advise us on the watering schedule for this grass, including the length of time for each application and the frequency as well as any other suggestions that you may have. My current watering schedule is two times a day for five minutes -late morning and late afternoon.

I would water once or twcie a week. This creates a healthier grass as the roots grow deeper. The amount you water should be between 1-2", depending on how hot it gets in your area. Based on your area, 2" twice a week is appropriate. Once it gets above 90F, you can up this to three times a week.
