Zeon Zoysia And Nut Sedge In Virginia

Question

After our zoysia sod was in place for 30 days, we had some nut sedge penetrate it. I was informed that ortho nutsedge killer could be sprayed on the sedge without harming the zoysia. This was bad advice. The sprayed sedge died, but now we have about 30 spots in the lawn where the zoysia is either dead or distressed. Picture attached. My questions, will the zoysia eventually cover these spots? Or do I need to use zoysia plugs or re-sod those areas. Thank you.

The zoysia should spread out and fill in those areas.
