Q.Yucca Tree

Anonymous added on October 7, 2011 | Answered

I have a tall yucca tree about 1. 4 meter long. About a month ago, the bottom leaves started to dry out. They are light brown and pointing to the floor. I started watering almost every day. There are green leaves as well, but I am just worried that those will be drying out as well. I just took the dried leaves off the tree. Please help!

Remove the brown leaves and back off on the watering. While it may have needed some water initially, do not water these plants every day. This will only lead to root rot. Instead, only water when the soil is dry to the touch (at least an inch deep). You may also want to give it a bit of fertilizer, should it be in need of some additional nutrients.
