Q.Young Apricot Tree Ozzing Sap, Cobwebs On It And Not Thriving,
Young Apricot tree,in its 1st year, planted in a very large wooden planter. Not produced any leaves, buds are dead and fall off, cobwebs between some branches and dark orange sap or gum? oozing from some branches on trunk. Tree is not thriving though is green on main trunk if you scratch small patch. Soil is sodden, possibly from over watering?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Many Thanks

I suspect a number of issues- Spider mites, overwatering, and fungal infection from both seem likely. With something this severe, recovery is not likely. Should you choose to attempt correction, these articles will offer some help:
