Q.Wisteria Pruning Questions In Bay Area, North California

Zone Bay area, I guess zone 9 | Anonymous added on May 20, 2021 | Answered

My backyard has 4 wisteria (Texas White) inherited when purchased this home 10 years ago. This year they bloomed a lot around Jan/Feb time for like 1 to 2 weeks then green leaves started to came out. A lot of leaves now then this week more and more flowers comes out but much less than Jan/Feb time. When shall I prune them? I thought wisteria blooms once a year and now I am not sure if I shall start pruning now or wait when all flowers came out. Don’t know why I have another small blooming time. I didn’t do much on gardening until now trying to save my yard. I cut a lot of root suckers this month to catch up with maintenance. It seems my wisteria have invaded quite a lot in the last 10 years.
