Q.pruning dead growth on jasmine
My aunt has a jasmine plant and it looks dead, so I cut the dead dry vines off and now my aunt said I killed it. The plant is in the backyard.

You need to determine if you have Summer or Winter Jasmine for proper pruning.
That said if you pruned away dead or damaged vines you have likely not done any harm to the vine.
