Q.Will My Begonias Come Back Next Year?

Zone Liverpool. United Kingdom. | Anonymous added on September 24, 2023 | Answered

Not sure if my begonias are tuberous- I bought them from the local garden centre and they are now past their best. Do I remove them or wait to see what happens next year. They are bright red, orange and yellow. If they’re not tuberous will they survive until next year?

Most begonias can't survive cold weather, and Liverpool can experience a freeze some years. You need to overwinter any begonias you want to keep.

If you only anticipate a few days of below freezing weather, you can leave them outside and cover them well when inclement weather is predicted.
