Q.Will Membrane Prevent My Plants Spreading

Zone Somerset | Michele1950 added on May 12, 2020 | Answered

I have laid weed suppressing membrane and covered with landscape bark on my flower beds. I’ve planted some beautiful Osteospermums and would like them to spread to their full size but will the membrane prevent this from happening or do they spread above ground anyway? I’m a new and inexperienced gardener so need all the advice I can get please.

They will, likely, still spread just fine as long as you left enough room for the crown to poke through.
