Q.Will ammonium nitrate kill stubborn weeds?

Zone 81151 | Tony Faith added on August 29, 2017 | Answered

I live in Spain and I have just purchased a sack of ammonia nitrate with the understanding that it wipe out stubborn weeds that are creating a problem over my raised terrace that are not going away. The ground where they grow is rough terrain ground. It is not used for garden plants. The weeds are growing up through my wooden terrace.
I was told to cover the area with the ammonia nitrate.

Dilute the ammonia. Mix two-thirds parts ammonia with one-third part water

Pour into a spray bottle.

Test an area in the garden. Spray the ammonia solution directly onto the weeds.

Reapply if needed until the weeds die.
