Q.Why’s This Neem Plant Yellowing?

Zone Hamilton Ontario | Fluffy_Chocho added on April 4, 2023 | Answered

I’ve only had this neem for around 2 weeks and have noticed it yellowing. My mom thinks there are bugs on it and there are little brown dots but I’m not sure and it looks more like specks of dirt. I think it might be because the soil has stayed moist too long because my mom watered it but I’m not sure because I’ve never owned a neem plant. What does this yellowing indicate?

Unfortunately, It could be, either, a fungal/bacterial infection, or it could be a spider mite infestation. Unfortunately, your photos did not come through, so I am unable to see the damage.

I would imagine that spider mites would avoid the plant... but this is never a guarantee. My best guess would be infection from overwatering.

Be sure to only water when the top 1/3 of the soil is dry, and allow all extra water to leave the container. You may need a fungicide as well.
