Q.Why Are My Peach Leaves Like This And What Can I Do To Help It?

Zone 10310 | Anonymous added on June 11, 2022 | Answered

Hi The leaves on my peach tree are not growing right. I’ve attached a pic. I’m starting to get peaches but if it’s anything like last year they won’t be as good as I know they can be. I had this same problem last year. What is causing the leaves to turn this way and what can I do to correct? The tree is planted in a sunny place gets watered 2x a week by the sprinklers that water my lawn. Once in a while I water it with Miracle Grow. Help me please. Thanks

It could be peach leaf curl, a fungal disease. More info below. I notice, too, that the tree is in the lawn. If you fertilize the lawn with nitrogen, avoid fertilizing the tree. Too much nitrogen is detrimental to fruit production.
