Leaf drop is a common problem in both lemon and lime citrus trees. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/lime/lime-tree-leaf-drop-why-a-lime-tree-is-losing-leaves.htm

It is likely stressed, either from heat or a watering issue. Normally it is caused by letting the soil get too dry. Citrus trees are funny, because they hold onto their leaves when they are under watered and then drop the leaves when water returns. You need to keep plant evenly watered at all times, especially those in containers, to avoid this.
