Q.why has my white hydrangea turned pink?

Zone Ingrandes, France | No6lacroixblanche added on July 19, 2012 | Answered

I purchased both a blue and a white hydrangea, and have not planted them out yet, but they stand together in a semi shady spot and are regularly watered. The white flower has started to go pink. What would cause this, and is there anything I can do to return it to white?

Hydrangea colors are based on nutrients in the soil. This article will explain more: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/hydrangea/change-hydrangea-color.htm
