Q.Why Has My Elderberry Shrub Not Turned The Rich Dark Color Purple/black

My shrub gets sun in the morning about 1 hour and sun n the late afternoon about 2 hours. planted in the North West corner of my yard. Mostly shaded through out the day. This is the second year for the shrug, Growing great just not the nice dark color nor has it any flowers

It sounds like they are lacking in sunlight! These need full sun, or partial shade at most.

The shrub may need to be relocated, or some of the shade removed for it to flower correctly.
