Q.why do fern fronds go brown?

My fern is in a large pot and has been fed with slow release Osmocote and fronds are going brown, look as if they are dying. What can I do?

What kind of a fern do you have - a boston? The following article will give you information on the various causes and prescribe a course of treatment. The article discusses browning fronds on boston ferns but the information would apply to whatever variety you do have:
