Q.no leaves or flowers on apricot tree

Zone southern ca. | felixtree added on April 17, 2015 | Answered

Why are there no leaves or flowers on my apricot tree? The bark is green under it. I have a Katty apricot, about 3yrs old, I bought and planted last year. The leaves dropped, and so far, there are no new buds or leaves.

Was the tree watered on a regular schedule until it went dormant for the winter? Do the branches bend or snap off?
If you still have branches that are alive and green if you scratch the bark, you may still have a live tree. Water and care for it as you would normally and time will tell. I always give my trees a chance to show themselves.
