Q.Why Are My Fig Leaf And Fiddle Fig Leaf Plants Dying Inside

Zone Cincinnati, OH 45243 | Anonymous added on October 19, 2021 | Answered

We’ve had this fiddle fig leaf (and regular fig leaf) plants inside our house in indirect light and watering regularly for about six months and they are all dying horribly. Help! What are we doing wrong?

Plant problems are often watering issues. Do I see pots within pots? While that is OK, it is important to remove the inside pot to water and let it drain well before returning to the outer (or cache) pot. If not, the roots will likely suffer from too much water and root rot. The same is true of pots with no drainage holes.

I suggest letting the soil dry out between waterings, rather than watering on a schedule.
