Q.Why are my avocado tree’s leaves going a shade of dark yellow with tiny brown flecks all over the leave?

Zone Brighton | ewancookclark added on October 30, 2019 | Answered

My avocado tree is almost one year old now and it is currently fall, the leaves lower down the plant have begun to develop dark yellow patches on the tips (especially), and all over. As well as that there are also tiny brown flecks across the whole leaf. There is no visible indication on the underside of the leaves. Any help on how I could save my avocado tree would be greatly appreciated!

Ah... Appears to be a bacterial infection. These are notoriously hard to cure, and they will almost always show back up later in life for trees such as this. This is especially true in container.

It is important to let your soil dry out pretty thoroughly down to about 3 inches if your container has drain holes, and almost completely dry to the bottom if it does not contain drain holes.

This will be your best defense. You will still have to correct the issue, though. A fungicide can help, as well as cutting heavily infected leaves once they are almost halfway consumed with the disease.
