Q.white fleece covering

christine added on April 20, 2012 | Answered

I have a small raised vegetable bed (10 ft x 2. 5ft approx. ). I have peas, beets and carrots. My question is: I have white fleece over all, to fend off all the bugs and slugs. Can I take the fleece off or should I keep it on all growing season?

If the fleece is very opaque, it should be fine to leave it. But if sun has trouble getting through it, it is best to remove it.
