Q.While Digging Up A Crinum Bulb, I Accidently Cut Part Of The Bulb Off. Will It Still Live When I Replant It?

Zone 29803, Aiken, South Carolina, Zone 8 | Anonymous added on April 23, 2021 | Answered

The bulb was large and attached to the parent plant which caused me to cut of about a quarter of it as I could not see the attachment. I want to plant it and would like to know if it will “heal itself” and continue to live. Thank you!

It should be fine. Bulbs can be cut in quarters if they are over 6 inches. Treat the cut end with a fungicide before planting.
