I want to grow more flowers from seeds and want to know if there are seeds that do not have to be covered for germination.

Smaller seeds tend to not need covering. In zone 3, there are several flower seeds that do not require covering when sown, such as Forget-Me-Nots, Bachelor's Buttons, Larkspur, Sweet Alyssum, Calendula, Poppies, Cosmos, Nasturtiums, Johnny Jump-Ups, and Love-in-a-Mist. These hardy flowers can be directly sown on the surface of the soil, and they only need light watering for successful germination.
