Q.magnolia blooms

Zone 7a southern border of.craighead county arkansas. | bonniegoodman52 added on May 21, 2015 | Answered

When magnolias bloom in spring, do the older green leaves sag slightly? If not, what does this mean? The blooms are fine, but the growth in prior years drop, still on branch but sagging compared to new spring growth. Is this correct?

This is completely normal. The older leaves on evergreen magnolias will droop when new leaves emerge.
