When is the best time to transplant a fig tree

When is the best time to transplant a fig tree and does it need constant sun? Thank you in advance for your help.

If they are in a pot you can plant them now. Dig a hole no bigger than the pot.
Fig trees like to be very root bound to produce figs. They like to be next to a wall and in part shade for some part of the day. They can die down to the ground in winter then start growing again in the spring and you will lose that years figs if that happens.
