Q.When Is It Too Late to Trim Crepe Myrtles
Our nine crepe myrtle trees have reached a height of about 35 feet. They are keeping sun out of our vegetable garden. We want about 10 to 12 feet trimmed off. I am very aware of NOT ruining the trees by trimming too much. It is April and there is a lot of green, but no flowers, even close. Is it too late to trim without hurting the tree? If the trees bloom somewhat less this year, that is not a problem.

I would not prune this late in the year, as you will lose blooms if you do. The following article should be of some help to you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/crepe-myrtle/best-crepe-myrtle-pruning-time-when-to-prune-crepe-myrtle.htm
