Q.esperanza and lantana not leafing out

Zone Austin, TX | Jeanniebreeding added on April 16, 2015 | Answered

When do Esperanza and TX Lantana leaf out in spring? I have Yellow Bells Esperanza (Tecoma stans) and TX Lantana (Orange/yellow.). Neither have started to leaf out and it is mid April. Are they dead?

With the below normal temperatures this past winter that nearly the entire United States experienced, it is possible your Esperanza and Lantana did not withstand the cold.

If your not seeing leafing out and the stems are brittle when you bend them, most likely your plants perished.

You are not alone, many of us are seeing loss of plants as spring arrives.
Here are links about both of you plants.
