Q.When Can I Plant A Mature Cyclamen Plant Outdoors In Zone 6?

Zone 6 | sp12883 added on January 31, 2023 | Answered

Hello, I bought a few cyclamen plants from Trader Joes but I’m having difficulty finding the best time to plant them outdoors. I was planning on planting the in the spring but I am located in Buffalo, NY (zone 6) and I don’t want them to die. Thanks for the help! ~ Shawn

If you have the "florist" cyclamen they can't go outside because they are tropical varieties. You can summer it outside though and bring it back in for winter.

Hardy cyclamen can be planted outside. Here is information on both.
