Q.What’s The Best Fertilizer To Use If You Do Not Make Compost, And Compost Is Advised For Your Plant?

Zone Cincinnati, OH 45241 | Anonymous added on March 30, 2021 | Answered

I am trying to encourage good health and better blooming on a star magnolia tree. I do not make compost. Guidelines suggest a couple of inches of compost on it in late winter. What can I use as fertilizer on the tree instead?

You can buy compost; it doesn't have to be made from your garden. The bags are usually labeled as such. There are also lots of organic fertilizers.
