Q.what zone is an elderberry bush?

Zone 3 | fabrictodyefor added on June 16, 2014 | Answered

I need to know if elderberries will grow in my area, NE Wyoming. The “maps” say we are a zone 3; however, we can hit a couple of weeks in the winter when we do not get above 0.

There are many, many cultivars of elderberry. There are varieties native to most of Europe and North America, and many others have been hybridized in the last 200 years. With some research, you should be able to find some that will grow in your area. And here is some information on berries in Wyoming: http://www.uwyo.edu/barnbackyard/_files/documents/magazine/small-berries-insert-2009-03-4.pdf
If you need more help, talk to someone at your local Extension Service: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/
