Q.What To Expect After Transplanting A Store Purchased Meyer Lemon Tree?
I’m in zone 9A and just purchased a Meyer lemon tree from the store. I transplanted it into a big pot the following day, almost a week ago. A few of the leaves at the bottom have turned yellow and some of the others are curling upwards a bit. Is this normal after transplanting? It says they’re supposed to get 6 to 8 hours of sunlight and the location I have it in gets just under 6. I have been having to water it every day because the top inch or two of the soil feels extremely dry . The last few days it’s been about 90 to 95° and is supposed to get up to 100 this weekend . If this is not normal after transplanting could it be that it’s getting too warm for the tree? Should I move it under a tree where it gets filtered light? Did pull off a few of the yellowing leaves on the bottom before taking the picture. Thank you

I don't think it's too warm for the tree. It's probably a combination of transplant shock and too much water. Is the plant potted at the same height as it was in the nursery container? It almost looks like it is deeper. If it is, try to level it out. The pot is larger than the nursery container so the extra soil is holding water and may be too much. Try just watering out to the root zone and not beyond. Also, make sure the pot has several drainage holes. Lemon trees do not like wet feet.
