Q.what to do when Jade plant becomes uprooted

Zone 50583 | jerrcat added on October 22, 2014 | Answered

My jade plant was growing all 1 direction. I thought it best to turn it the other direction. The plant uprooted & fell out of the pot! Can I repot? Can I save this older beautiful jade plant? It is a healthy plant with new leaves.

Yes, repot it without delay. Use this opportunity to put in new soil, and a slightly larger pot (plants that are falling over are often a signal that the plant needs repotting.) Be sure to set it deeply enough in the new pot to hold it securely, and you can tip it a bit so that the bent trunk is sitting straight. Use a nice free-draining soil, cactus mix with 1/2 & 1/2 perlite is always good.
