Q.straw mulch
What to do about straw mulch providing home for sow bugs, earwigs and slugs? Also, have problem with strawberries rotting to grey, watery fruit (no mold showing) but using rice straw. Strawberries in raised, plastic cement mixing tubs with holes in bottom.

Straw mulch has it's benefits but also can be a growing nursery for slugs and bugs.
You need to be vigilant watching for the buggers! Treat accordingly.
Move the straw away from the plants, try to not have it touching the plant itself.
