What Kind Of Flower Does Wild Ginger Have ?

No one I have asked is familiar with the flower my Ginger plant has every August. It likes wet ground; it blossoms in the shade , and has stalk type blossom that is alternate yellow, purple, and mauve. The lady we bought this house from referred to it as Wild Ginger. We live in SE Louisiana, 60 miles NW of Baton Rouge.
