Ox Tongue Plant

Q.What Is This Weed

Zone SO40 7EB | Anonymous added on July 3, 2021 | Answered

I left this plant because it looked like a teasel, it is about 5 feet tall with spiny leaves and non descript yellow flowers. Could it have come from the bird food?

That would be Helminthotheca echioides, or Oxtongue. It is considered invasive.

Probably spread by wind, but it could have come from anywhere.
