Q.What Is This On My Tomato Plant ? What Should I Do To Prevent Its Return?

I have 8 tomato plants in my 18 x 20 garden with a variety of other’s vegetables and flowers. I’ve never seen anything like this over the yrs. what is it?

Ewww! The large caterpillar (tomato hornworm) has been parasitized. The eggs will hatch and the larva will consume the caterpillar.
