What is this grass/weed

What is this grass/weed?

This looks like a member of the iris or possibly lily families, perhaps blue-eyed grass. However, it's very difficult to identify this based on just the leaves. If it flowers, send another picture and also let us know your geographic location, and we will have another try at IDing it.

I am in maryland. I don't recall seeing a flower. When I dug up the roots, they did look like a little onion head. If I see a flower, I will post. Thanks
