what is the best way to control weeds in my monkey grass

I have wire grass in my bed of monkey grass and don’t want to spray something that kills my monkey grass.  What is the best spray to use to accomplish this goal?

To be honest with you, I have a deep distrust of herbicides after I used one that was supposed to kill grass, except that it also killed half a dozen juniper bushes. What if you planted more monkey grass, leaving the weed no place to grow.
