Q.What is this white stuff on my Money Plant?

Zone Singapore, Indoor Office. | victorchoo added on January 29, 2016 | Answered

The plant used to be excellent shape and one day upon reading that used coffee powder is a good natural fertilizer, I put in some. That used coffee powder started to grow fungus and my problems started since. The Money plant started to not do well and I started having this white stuff on the plant.

Sections of the plant started dying while other sections sprouted and grew. I have been clearing dead leaves and some sections of the stem dies, while the other sections along the same stem is alive and growing new leaves. It’s all so confusing.

This appears to be a Scale infestation.
It can take a bit of work to rid your plant of this insect, but here is a link with several suggestions.
Neem Oil is a good treatment, as it is safe for people and pets.
