Q.Weed control

Zone 56334 | Josakis added on June 8, 2016 | Answered

I rent a garden plot in the community. Many people use grass clippings between the rows to control weeds. We do not have a bagger and I can’t seem to find people I know who bag. Is there something else I can use or a product I can buy?

There are many different ways to control weeds. Close mowing, mulching, putting down rock or pine needles, choking them out by using a garden fabric, or sprinkling corn meal. Vinegar is a natural weed killer and used with epsom salt and blue dawn dish soap can combat weeds. The mixture is 1 gallon white vinegar, 2 cups multi purpose epsom salt, and 1/4 cup blue dawn dish soap. Make sure not to spray it on your plants as it will kill them. Good Luck!
