We have some plants growing in our garden but are not sure what they are. They are growing all around where our tomato plants were. Do you know what they are?

It would appear something is growing up from a root system under the soil. What is planted near this area?

To difficult for me to tell at this seedling size. My guess would be a mint of some variety. Did you have an herb garden nearby? Mint leaves will be fragrant even at a small size.
