How ofter do you water beefsteak tomatoes? I live in the desert in CA.

It really depends on many factors, such as soil type, rainfall and temperature. In your case, I would suspect that daily watering would be needed. I recommend planting an indicator plant near your tomatoes, such as impatiens. If the indicator plant looks wilted, you know that you need to water.
