Can wasps destroy trees?

    There are some wasp species that lay their eggs in trees and cause galls (basically plant tumors) to form, but this is not usually fatal to the tree:

    Other than that, carpenter bees can damage trees, though they are more likely to attack houses or other wooden structures:
