Q.Violets Started From Seed

Zone Springfield, IL | ejcompton added on January 29, 2024 | Answered

I started lots and lots of violets from one seed pod about 18 mmonths ago. Many of them rooted and grew but none have ever bloomed. I have a lot of other violets and have started countless plants from leaf stems and they all bloomed but not the plants from seed. Also, I haven\\\’t seen another seed pod since. I need some advice.

They are at that time that they are able to flower. If you do not see some within the next few months, then I would consider taking a look at your soil nutrients. Too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus and potassium will cause green growth, but that will be at the cost of flower production.
