Can they kill blooms?

If it is a vine weed like Bind Weed, yes it can. The weed steels nutrients from the rosebushes both at the root zone and chokes of some of the sunlight the rosebushes need. Thus it is best not to allow the vines to grow up and around the rosebushes.
