Q.Vegetable Plants Not Flowering

Anonymous added on April 5, 2014 | Answered

I recently planted a container garden on my patio. I have tomatoes, zucchini, okra. The plants are growing and thriving, but they haven’t flowered yet. I’m concerned that I may not get any vegetables from them if they don’t flower, is that correct? Do you have any suggestions on what I can expect? I planted them about 2 weeks ago.

Give them a little more time. It may be a little too soon or even too cool just yet for flowering to occur. It usually needs to be very warm for these plants to bloom. If you don't see any blooms in the next few weeks or so, you could try adding some phosphorus (like bone meal) to the soil around the plants.
