Q.Trunk Of Avocado Going Brown.

Zone South Australia 5162 | Flyn added on April 8, 2020 | Answered

Have a young avocado tree that I grew from a seed. A while ago all the leaves went brown & crispy & I expected to lose the tree. I pulled off all leaves, gave it a couple of good flushings & have been digging coffee grounds into the soil. It’s in a pot & has never looked better except for the trunk going brown in patches. What might be the problem. It’s about 150cm tall & flourishing.

More than likely, it is still partly the bacterial/fungal issue, and partly stem maturation.

If you did not treat with a fungicide or bactericide, then the infection likely just went dormant. It will come and go, with its life cycle, until treated.
