Q.Tropical Hibiscus

Anonymous added on June 19, 2011 | Answered

I have two tropical hibiscus that I have had for 3 years. I did not trim them back when I wintered over this past winter and they are not producing blooms yet. They are beautiful and about 4 feet tall. How can I get them to produce blooms this year? I am fertilizing every other week and they are out by the pool, so get plenty of sun. I live in northern Louisiana.

Pruning may help as well as a little phosphorus. Here is an article on pruning that should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/tips-for-pruning-hibiscus-plants-when-to-prune-hibiscus.htm
