Q.Trimming Hydrangea bush
I have a few branches of a Hydrangea that stick out and are in the way. Is this an OK time of year to trim a few off and how close to the main stem should it be done?
Thanks

You don't say what kind of hydrangea you have, whether it blooms on old wood or new wood, so if it blooms on old wood, it is probably already producing buds for next year. You may be able to see them and can cut up to the new buds. If it blooms on new wood, go ahead and trim as far back as you need to.
