Q.Transplanted Coneflowers Last Fall

Zone 5 | ktaylorteddy added on April 10, 2023 | Answered

I live in zone 5 outside Chicago. I don’t see any new growth from the transplanted coneflowers. It’s April 9th. How long do I wait till I assume they’re dead? Thanks.

They, probably, did not make it. Instructions for this plant can get a little complicated. Typically, if you want to plant divisions in fall, this will be from a divided plant that is 3 years or older. New, or young plants will need to be planted in Spring, around this time.
