Q.Transplanting kratom plant to bigger container

I have a kratom plant about 8 and 1/2 ft tall. It is still in the soil and covered in newspaper and plastic on the outside of the block of soil. Do I need to transplant it into a pot or something? I just want it to keep growing without running into problems. Thanks.

If you are in a very warm climate, in gardening zones 10 or 11, you can plant your kratom outdoors. Anywhere colder, you should plant it in a pot so that you can move it indoors during the winter (before the first frost). Here's how to find your gardening zone in the US:
