Q.Tomato Splitting From Stem End

I live in southeastern Arizona. Every year my husband and I grow tomatoes. We’ve experienced blossom rot before, but never have we had so many tomatoes splitting from the stem end of the tomato. Can you give me some idea as to why this is happening? I’m sure it’s too late this year to correct this problem, but I would like to be armed with the knowledge for next year.
